Day 13 | My Guiding Light
Psalms 119:105 (NKJV) Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

OBSERVATION
Scripture is like lamp and light. What do those two things do? They provide us guidance & direction, especially during life’s most darkest moments. Reading & memorizing Scripture deepens our love for God and helps us in our everyday life. Are you facing some tough decisions right now in life? Perhaps you’re trying to decide which college to go to? Or to even go to college or straight into the workforce? Are you deciding on a certain career path? Spouse? Has this season in life been full of anxiety or depression? Are you believing for a specific miracle from God? Do you feel distant from God? If so, never forget that God’s word is a lamp and a light for us! This reminds us that we can look to the word for direction and guidance. Memorizing scripture deepens our love for God, helps us fight sin, renews our mind, helps us through difficult moments, and seasons our speech with grace and truth. Knowing the Word of God helps us know which path to take, and draws us closer to Him; to know God is to know His Word! Pastor Louie Giglio says, “To the degree you immerse yourself in the Word of God, it is the same degree you will know and recognize the voice of God!”
APPLICATION
Thinking of what we learned today, ask yourself these questions: Am I getting the right direction (God’s Word) that I need in life? Do I have a daily plan - such as a Bible reading plan, etc. to ensure that I’m filling my heart and mind with God’s word? Is there an area of my life right now where I need direction? Find a scripture that relates to that concern and commit to memorize that verse.
PRAYER
God, thank you for your Word that leads and guides me. Your Word is final. It is powerful and can cut through any situation in my life. It can give me hope when I’m hopeless and it can strengthen my faith! God help me to know your Word so I can know you more. Help me to seek you out daily by reading your Word and knowing you more. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
