Day 18 | Who Cut In On You
Galatians 5:7 (NIV)
7 You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth?
OBSERVATION
I’m sure that you’ve heard the saying: “Show me your friends, I’ll show you your future.” Paul writes to the believers at Galatia and ask them a very simple question: (paraphrasing) You were doing so, so, so good in the faith - WHO cut in on you? Notice he says “WHO” not “WHAT”. So many people think, “If I’m gonna mess up in my faith, it’s gonna be with a ‘WHAT’”. Perhaps the “what” is: drugs, alcohol, pornography, etc. etc. But notice Paul doesn’t say WHAT cut in on you, he says: WHO. You see relationships are so important. WHO you surround yourself with makes a difference in your life and more importantly makes a difference in your faith.
APPLICATION
Ask yourself the following questions today:
Am I surrounding myself with the RIGHT influences in my life that will keep my faith strong?
Are their relationships that I need to reconsider?
Which relationship are my making my faith stronger?
Am I making someone else’s faith stronger?
PRAYER
Dear God I thank you for the good relationships that I do have in my life that help me grow in the faith. Help me be more aware of the power of relationships in my life. I ask that you help me not only surround myself with the right friends, but also be the right friend for someone else. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
