Day 21 | Keep it Up

Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

OBSERVATION

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “It’s not how you start, but how you finish.” There’s a lot of truth to that saying. Our verse today tells us that when God starts a good work in us, he actually continues that good work! Over the last few weeks we’ve been focusing on developing HABITS that are life changing. Let me once again remind you why. HABITS > HYPE. Hype fades. Habits stay. Habits are what get inside of you and become a part of you. Let me say it another way, “Habits are what will make sure the good work God has started inside of you will continue on.” So now what you do is take these habits that you’ve been learning about and putting into practice over the last few weeks, and you make a commitment to stay devoted to them. In fact, double down on your commitment to let the HABITS you’ve READ about and experienced, become your NEW NORMAL. Never forget this: God will always do his part. He will continue His good work in our lives. We simply have to give him something to work with: our time, our devotion, our thoughts, our lives, our HABITS.

APPLICATION

Make a new commitment today to the Habits you’ve discovered and practiced over the last few weeks. Let the good work that God has started in you, continue on as you put into practice the things you’ve learned.

PRAYER

Dear God I thank you for the good work that you’ve started in my life. Thank you that you are not finished, but this is only the start. Help me to continue to develop the right Habits that will allow your Spirit to continue to work in and through my life on a daily basis. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
